Carlton R. "Nekk" Duker, age 70, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 31, 2024.
Born in Townsend, DE on September 6, 1953, he was a son of the late Francis and Ella (Ashe) Duker. Nekk earned his teaching degree at Delaware State University. Later in life he worked as a forklift operator at Letica for many years, until his retirement.
Nekk had a passion for art, spending countless hours creating beautiful drawings and paintings. He also enjoyed working in his garden and cheering on his favorite sports teams. In his spare time, Nekk could often be found working on his old truck, Fred. Most of all, he loved attending family gatherings.
In addition to his parents, Nekk was preceded in death by his son, Nare Duker; and siblings, James, Ephraim, Charles, Edith, Leroy, Geraldine, and Jonas. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Burks) Duker; children, Sean Wiggins of Middletown and Tangela Gordan of Florida; stepsons, Michael Burks of Middletown, Dontaine Wiggins of Middletown, Darius Wiggins of Middletown and Nakia Wiggins of Middletown; siblings, Carolyn Evans of Smyrna, Calvin Duker of Middletown, Rosa Young (George) of Middletown, Eugene Duker of Wilmington, Mary Duker of Newark, and Carola Jackson of Chester, PA; brothers-in-law, Sylvester Benson of Newark, Kenneth Burks of Newark, James Benson of Middletown; sisters-in-law, Marie Lopez of Georgia and Delores Duker of Middletown; 20 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.
