Carmela Soranno, 66, of Hackensack, NJ, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family on September 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born to the late Michael and Chiara (Cascione) Antonino on February 3, 1959, in Bari, Italy, Carmela emigrated to the United States at a young age, eventually settling in New Jersey. Over the years, she became a beloved figure in her community, working as the store manager for David's Bridal in Paramus for many years before retiring ten years ago.
Carmela's greatest passion in life was her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. She found immense joy in nurturing her loved ones, and her home was a reflection of her care and devotion. Her love for gardening, particularly her beautiful flowers, was a source of pride, and she took great joy in tending to her garden. Carmela's special place was the beach, where she and her family enjoyed their beach home in Riverhead, East Long Island, NY, creating countless memories.
Carmela is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Dominic; her children, David (Jamie), Danielle Pelle (Paul), and Nicholas; and her beloved grandchildren, Julia, Jane, Sofia, Derek, and Dominic. She is also survived by her siblings, Rosa Colaluca (Paul), Emanuele Antonino, and Maria Konig (Bob).
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Visitation, 234 N Farview Ave, Paramus, NJ. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 179 Hackensack Avenue, Hackensack, NJ.
Carmela's wish in lieu of flowers are donations to be sent in her name to the American Cancer Society, PO Box P, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
