On Friday November 3, 2023, Kenny Glover left this life. A man who lived large until his death, Carmen Kenneth Glover II was born on September 27, 1952, to Jeanne and Carmen “Kenneth” Glover.  He was known by “Kenny” to everyone and by “Duff” to many. The Glover Family was a close group with a competitive and sports minded spirit. Above all, they were a family filled with love.  This environment made him a sweet kind and loving person who wanted nothing more than to beat you at whatever game you were playing.

While he never met a sport he didn’t like, he excelled at wrestling, and after graduating from McGuinness High School in 1971, he attended UCO on a wrestling scholarship.  He graduated in May of 1976.  With degree in hand, he went to work in the Oklahoma public school system, coaching football, baseball, and wrestling, teaching PE and history. Most of his career was spent at Hoover Middle school. While there he made friends who remained a part of his large support circle.

Along the way he met his lifelong pal, Margie Horn. They were married on March 25, 1992, on a mountain top in Colorado. They had one child, “Mattie” with whom he spent the summers, chauffeuring and joining in on whatever fun she had planned.

When he wasn’t teaching or coaching, he was hunting, fishing, golfing, skiing, playing pool, playing pickle ball, dancing, entertaining, and loving. Nothing made him happier than having family and friends out to the house which his mother had dubbed “Glovers Hideaway”.

His health had taken a serious downturn in January of this year when he lost his Right leg. Not defeated by this, he had worked hard to obtain and master a prosthetic leg and had managed to fish, golf a little and perfect his cornhole game. The courage and determination with which he met this hurdle was so true to his nature.

Preceding him in death were his parents Jeanne and C Kenneth Glover, and nephews Christopher Shirley, and Tate Goodson. Left behind to remember and celebrate his life are his wife Margie, daughter Madeline and her spouse Ian Vowell, his brothers Charles (Mary Helen), Terrance (Micki), Anthony (Wanda) and sisters Carma (John) Branscome, Roebie (Chris) Shirley, Jeanne (Danny) Stith, and Rheta (Jon) Rogers. Numerous nephews and nieces and his wife’s siblings and relatives all of whom loved him and delighted in his presence.
