Carol Jean Alsept Obituary
Carol Jean Alsept, age 77, of Bolivar, Ohio, died early Sunday morning, July 21, 2024 in the Hennis Care Center at Bolivar.
She was born September 2, 1946 in Uhrichsville, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Millhorn) Hooker.
Carol assisted her husband in the operation of several family businesses for most of her working years She was the family bookkeeper for the former Alsept Bit Service and the former Atwood Motors of Dover. She was a 1964 graduate of Uhrichsville High School. Also a homemaker, her deepest happiness came from caring for her family. Carol and her husband Dennis were fond of traveling together. An avid reader, she loved digging through genealogy and was able to trace her family back to the 1500's. She adored watching her grandchildren's antics and took so much joy from her family. Carol was funny and feisty and fiercely protective of those she loved. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed by her family.
She is survived by the love of her life and best friend, husband Dennis Lee Alsept, whom she married August 12, 1967, a son Douglas (Wendy) Alsept of Strasburg, OH, a daughter Denise (Andy) Donaldson of Bolivar, her three grandchildren, Morgan (companion Michael) Alsept of Dover, OH, Alex (Laura) Donaldson of Green, OH, and Molly (Elissa) Donaldson of Bolivar, and her two great-grandchildren Gideon and Maggie Donaldson, a sister, Mrs. Nancy (George) McPeek of Dennison, OH, Sisters-in-law Sue (Tom) Kahler of Bolivar, Shari Nelson of New Cumberland, Tina Levengood of Bolivar, Brother-in-law Tim (Vicesaha) Alsept of Dellroy, sister-in-law Marilyn Lee of Colorado, and her special cousins, Glenn and Mary Roark of New Philadelphia, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, David Hooker and Donald Lee, and brother in law David Alsept.
Following cremation, a public graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 25, 2024 in the New Cumberland Cemetery. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville has been entrusted with arrangements. Contributions in Carol's memory may be made to the Aultman Hospice, 2821 Woodlawn Avenue N.W., Canton, Ohio 44708 or Hennis Care Centre, Bolivar, 300 Yant Street, Bolivar, Ohio 44612.
