Carol Baber

Carol Jean Baber, age 86 of Arcadia passed away quietly with family by her side on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Carol was born in Noblesville, IN, on Feb 9, 1939, to the parents of Paul and Katherine Baker.
As a child, Carol grew up in Arcadia where she attended and graduated from Jackson Central High School. Carol would later meet the love of her life Granville Lee Baber, whom she married on June 7, 1957. Granville and Carol shared 67 years of marriage prior to his passing on May 6, 2024.
Through the years, and in addition to raising her family, Carol worked at various jobs, including Western Electric, Freds Frozen Foods, and PL Porter until her retirement in 2001. During the years, Carol and Granville took many camping trips with family and friends. In her spare time, Carol loved to work on jigsaw puzzles, knit, crochet, read and spend time at the casinos. Carol's greatest joy was her family. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, especially during her favorite holidays, Christmas and Easter.
Carol is survived by her son Greg (Mary) Baber of Atlanta, IN, daughters Cynthia (Dave) Campbell of Arcadia, IN, Cheryl (Dave) Vredeveld of Avon, IN; grandchildren, Dylan (Susan) Baber of Atlanta, IN, Carissa (Brian) Greene of Atlanta, IN, Cory Campbell of Tipton, IN, Samantha (John) Skilbinski of Carmel, IN, Shawn (Amy) Scott of Vancouver, WA, and Alishia (Luke Knapp) Scott of Cicero, IN; great-grandchildren, Adyson, Alayna, Aubrey, Braxtyn, Zacharya, Noah, Hayley, Jeff, James, Arlo, Eloise, Calvin and Ashlyn; great-great grandchildren, Hayden, Maylea, Lynelle, and Mylee; brother Mike (Paula) Baker of Arcadia, IN and several nieces and nephews.
Carol was proceeded in death by her husband Granville Baber, parents Paul and Katherine Baker, and brothers, Dale, Robert "Bobby" and Basil Baker.
The Baber and Baker Family would like to thank the staff at Wellbrooke Assisted Living Facility in Westfield, IN and would like to personally thank the nurses, therapists, activities and the cafeteria teams for their compassionate care.
A time for visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, 2025, 12:00 pm -2:00 pm at Hartley Funeral Home, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at HartleyFuneral Home, with Mark Knapp officiating. For those who cannot attend in person, a live stream will be available at https://my.gather.app/remember/carol-baber. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN.
