Carol Frances Bowen, 77, passed away on October 13, 2025, at the Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester, Indiana. She was born on May 22, 1948, to Joseph Bernard Sobota and Julia Frances (Pavlik) Sobota in Detroit, Michigan, and spent most of her life in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
Carol graduated from Crestwood High School in Dearborn Heights in 1966, and worked as a bookkeeper for various companies throughout her working career. Carol married David Bowen in 1966, with whom she shared two sons, Steven and Brian. They later divorced. Carol dedicated much of her life to raising her beloved boys Steve and Brian Bowen.
Outside of her family, Carol lived a quiet life. She loved to garden and was an avid crafter, finding joy in restoring furniture, cross-stitching and quilting. Carol also cherished her cats, Samantha and Max. Carol's journey brought her to the Peabody Retirement Community in 2024.
The loving memory of Carol Bowen will be forever cherished by her sons, Brian Bowen, Arizona and Steven (Jeanne) Bowen, Minnesota; grandchildren, Greg and Savannah Bowen; and sisters, Cathy (Scott) Davis, Indiana and Joanne Schake, California. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Janet Sobota.
The family of Carol Bowen will grieve privately.
