Carol Ann Butcher-Kerr

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 11:00 am at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette, LA for Carol Ann Butcher-Kerr, 61, who passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at her residence in Lafayette, LA.

Visitation will be observed at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette, LA on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 9:00 am until the time of service.

Carol Ann Butcher-Kerr, was born May 10, 1964, in Lake Charles, LA and was a long-time resident of Acadiana. She was a devoted homemaker who lovingly took care of her family. Carol was a member of First Baptist Church in Lafayette, LA.
Carol most enjoyed spending time with her loving husband Frank and best friend Debbie. They shared many fun times and even more laughs. She cared for her two dogs, Agnes and Archie, as if they were royalty. Carol was devoted to her only daughter, Katie, more than anything on this earth and constantly reminded her of that every day. She liked to watch The Twilight Zone and Perry Mason every night before bed. Carol also enjoyed disco. Her favorite holiday was Christmas; and would start her Christmas prepping in October. She was a God-fearing Christian woman through and through who prayed for everyone and stood proudly in her faith and love of Jesus. She took great pleasure in gardening and despite having a self-proclaimed "black thumb" never stopped trying. Carol showed her dedication through cooking and boy did she show a lot. Family meant everything to Carol, and she leaves a legacy of love behind and will be deeply missed.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband of 11 years, Frank Ellsworth Kerr, of Lafayette, LA; her daughter, Katie Butcher and her spouse, Luz Sallaway, of Oklahoma City, OK; her best friend, Debbie Bujol, of Duson, LA; her brother, Billy Richard and his wife, Andrea, of Oberlin, LA and their son, Matthew Richard; Tony Richard and his son, Joshua Richard; her sister, Kim Knecht and her husband, Donald, of Lafayette, LA and their daughters, Jordan Davis, Hannah Vidrine, and Mykah Knecht.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Glenda Sue Tibbets Richard; nieces, Sara Ann Richard and Elizabeth Powers and sister-in-law, Kelly Richard.
