Carol Cunningham

Carol A. Cunningham, 73, of Catasauqua, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on April 17th, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Reichl. A graduate of Kutztown University in 1973, Carol was an elementary school teacher at Northampton Area School District for over 30 years and finished her career as a principal following completion of her master's degree with principal certification from Cabrini University in 2013. She was also a dedicated member of the Catasauqua School Board for 20 years serving as both vice president and president during her tenure.
Carol was an active member of her church, singing in the choir, participating in the Holy Trinity Morning Glories and Church Council, and supporting community outreach efforts. She spent many years singing, dancing, and acting in the Catasauqua Area Showcase Theatre, and was also a member of Pennsylvania's Camerata Singers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends above all else. Carol will be remembered for her infectious laugh and smile, and her ability to light up any room she entered.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Cunningham; son Gregory Cunningham; daughter Abby Cunningham, granddaughter Josephine Moyer; sisters Judy Zaborowski and Diane Carfara; along with many nieces and one nephew.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held on Saturday, May 17th, at Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 4th St, Catasauqua, PA, 18032. A calling hour will be held from 9-10 a.m., with a service to follow in the church.
