Carol Jean Dougher, 83, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, at her home in Millersville, MD. Born on November 13, 1941, Carol was a vibrant and loving individual whose spirit touched the lives of many.
She is remembered for her engaging personality and her passion for Elvis music and memorabilia, which showcased her eclectic tastes and deep appreciation for music and culture. Cooking and painting were also among her cherished hobbies, reflecting her creativity and love for family gatherings, where she would often share her culinary delights. Carol had a zest for travel and enjoyed horseback riding, experiences that enriched her life and created wonderful memories.
Carol's family was at the center of her world. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Owens; her son, Michael Vacek and his wife, Debbie; and her daughter-in-law, Donna Vacek. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Chris Emerson, Seth Vacek, Damen Vacek, David Vacek, Alison Vacek, and Kristen Vacek, as well as her great-grandchildren, Gavin and Silas Emerson, who brought immense joy to her life. Carol also leaves behind her sister, Judy Gnall-Stecyk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth J. Dougher; her son, David Vacek, Jr.; her great-grandson, Jared Scott; her siblings, Sandra Lechliter and Robert Ringler and her parents, Eugene and Bernice Ringler. Each of these individuals held a special place in her heart, and their memory will continue to be honored by those who loved her.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Carol's life during a visitation on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services PA, located at 1 2nd Ave SW, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
As we remember Carol Jean Dougher, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and outstanding memories that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.
