Carol Ann Durst, of Philadelphia, passed away on August 12th, at the age of 82. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Durst: devoted Mother of Richard Durst Jr. (Terry): and the late Sherry Ferreri (Gary): loving Grandmother to Ashley and Anthony: And the cherished Sister to Freda, Edward, Lillian, Linda, and Mary: also, to the late Winnie, and Joseph. Carol will also be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Carol was born and raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia to her Parents Edward and Freda Knauss. She met her Husband Richard, and moved to Parkwood where she started and raised her Family. She worked in Customer Service for the Potamkin Auto Mall. She loved to travel, whether it was to the Wildwood shore house, Las Vegas, or spending some time at " The Hunting Cabin." She loved to go to the casinos, and loved eating out at restaurants, especially anywhere her son recommended. She like to try all places he said were good. Carol remained active in her later years playing Bingo, trips with the Seniors, or just spending time talking to friends.
Most of all, Carol loved her Family, she was an incredibly devoted Mother and Grandmother. Spending time with and talking to her Grandchildren ranked at the top of her list. Carol spent time with the kids in Disney, when they were young: or fishing and doing goofy thing with them every chance she could. She was very proud of them, as well as Richard and Sherry. Family was the most important thing, regardless of where you fit into her life. Carol was a very kind, and supportive woman who definitely always had your back. She will be missed dearly by all of us.
Family and Friends are invited to Carol's Life Celebration on Monday, August 21st from 6-8PM, and on Tuesday August 22nd from 9- 11am at the John F. Givnish Funeral Home, 10975 Academy Rd, Philadelphia, PA, 19154. A Funeral service will follow at 11am. Interment services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery
