Carol JoAnne Eenigenburg, age 78, of DeMotte, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024. Carol was born on May 14, 1946, the daughter of Arthur and Ida (Schoon) Wiers. She married Richard Eenigenburg, Sr. on October 9, 1964, and he preceded her in death in 2007. Carol was a former church secretary, but being a mother and homemaker was her passion. She was a longtime member of First Church, enjoyed reading, collecting postcards, and spending time with her family.
Carol is survived by her children: Richard "Rick" Eenigenburg Jr., Twila (Greg) Smith, Starla (John) Van Soest, Dale (Marie) Eenigenburg, Kevin (Valerie) Eenigenburg, and Paul (Ashley) Eenigenburg; 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and counting. She is also survived by her sister, Judy Kooi, brothers, Arthur Jr. (Ruth) Wiers and Tom Wiers and her dog, Daisy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Diane Wiers, brother David Wiers, daughter-in-law Kristi Eenigenburg, and brother-in-law Albert Kooi.
Family and friends may visit at First Church on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM or on Saturday, June 29 from 9:00 until 9:45. A funeral service will be held at First Church on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 10:00 AM with Pastor John Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Holland Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Connection Center.
