Carol Davidson Eicher

LEXINGTON, OHIO: Carol Davidson Eicher was a designer. From her early years designing kitchens at the Tappan Home Center, to owning Videos to Go in Lexington, Ohio, to becoming a realtor with Sluss Realty Carol has always maintained strong relationship bonds with her family. Carol's disciplined creativity saw a result that was worth working towards – and when it came to family, she was everyone's cheerleader, and would always help fight for the cause.
Carol passed into the Lord's care Sunday, June 15, 2025, in Levine and Dickson Hospice House at Aldersgate in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was 78.
Born just outside Lexington, Ohio, on July 22, 1946, to loving, wonderful, and amazing parents James and Mary (Marshall) Davidson, Carol was one of 12 children. Her siblings, in birth order are Donald (Mary) Davidson, Norma (Jack) Brindle, Marilyn (Donald) Renfroe, Dean (Sally) Davidson, Sandra Davidson, Larry (Diane) Davidson, Joyce Davidson, Shirley (Daniel) Stiteler, Vicki (Marty) Breitinger, Karen (Edwin) Dunlap, and Roger (Gayle) Davidson. These brothers and sisters were her best friends, with whom she shared so many loving memories growing up. It has been a blessing for them to share these stories to the next family generation.
Following graduation from Lexington High School in 1964, Carol landed a job with Tappan Home Center, first as secretary, then in sales, and attended Design School to become a kitchen designer. Carol didn't design kitchens – she designed dreams. She combined three dimensions in a way that delighted the five senses. She had a natural eye – a knack even – for home design.
This skill transitioned well to a second career as a realtor. With Sluss Realty she served clients with her vision, sales, and decorating skills
Carol's hobbies were decorating and shopping; she loved to get up early and get to the stores before the crowds. She loved shopping for sales, for her house, or something for her children or grandchildren. She always had a passion for shopping for some kind of coat or jacket.
She treasured her immediate family. The love she poured on her children and grandchildren was immeasurable, teaching them a strong spirit, a good work ethic, and love of family.
Carol had many health problems over the years, compounded by injuries, yet she fought hard and persevered – never wanting to leave her family. In the end her body just gave out.
She will be remembered as a woman who demonstrated incredible strength and resilience in the face of obstacles. Carol pulled herself up. Nothing could lift her spirits more than lunch with her siblings, followed by some retail therapy! If shopping was a spiritual gift, Carol would have qualified as a saint!
She leaves behind her oldest daughter Tiffany and son-in-law Steve Yoha, granddaughter Lexy (Cody) Weaver, and great grandson Rhett Weaver; her youngest daughter Caren Truax, grandson Matthew (Sasha) Truax, great grandson Gavin (Ashley) Truax, great granddaughters Lillian Truax and Addilyan Truax; and her son-in-law Chuck Truax.
Her surviving siblings are Norma, Shirley, Karen, and Roger and their spouses and all of the many loving and amazing nieces and nephews.
Carol's family will receive friends and family on Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. A service celebrating her life will immediately follow at 1 p.m. Pastor Dan Krause will officiate. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
