Carol was always an angel in my pocket and always made each and everyone feel like you were the most important person in the world to her. Carol always put us first without any complaints or wanting anything in return. The people that she toucked with her kindness, love and laughter was endless. What will we all do without you there to cheer us on or tells us how Beautiful we look or what a great job where doing. You were one amazing woman you always put a positive outlook on life. You will truly be missed - you were the "BEST PIANO TEACHER AND FRIEND" anyone could ever hope of having. Thanks for always making a bad day better :-) and for all the talks over wine on my porch ... you will be deeply missed my wonderful friend. Thanks you being another wonderful person in my childrens lives ... they loved you more than you'll ever know. Carol you'll live in our hearts and through the beautiful music you brought into our lives. Thank you for being you!I'm going to miss all those wonderful information sheets and notes and cards. Carol you are one of the those special people that you meet in your life ... that you will never forget. I love you and miss you ... Tracy Hibbard

Chris and Andy,
Ms.Goranson was very important in my life. I remember every one was saying how they didn't like their piano teachers and I was always the one that was bragging on how much I loved mine. She would always cheer me up when I was in tears going in to lessons, I would always come out laughing. She was a jewel to everyone, we will all miss her. Best wishes to you!

Chris: Your mom was so precious to my youngest son Jonathan. She was always patient and loving, no exceptions. It was nice to be in touch with her again - after 16 years. She will be missed.
We send our sympathy to you and your family,

To Carol's family,
Carol was one to spread joy everywhere she went. I had not seen her for quite awhile, and went up and gave her a big hug at a local event. She cannot take items with her now, but I bet she takes the hug! I send my sympathy to Chris and Andy.

Dear Chris and Andy,
We want you to know how much we treasured your Mom's friendship and will miss that sassy smile. We have wonderful memories of singing along to her accordian playing, telling jokes with her or just spending time together. She made this world a better place to be, and her "Lake" family will miss her.

Andy,
You probably don't remember me, but I was in your class at Swanson. I've always remembered your mother as a kind and loving person. I am so sorry for your loss.

I had the honor of meeting Carol through my Mother-In-Law Laura Ahl. Carol was such a special person to our family. We enjoyed her company, whether it meant on vacation, holidays, or just dinner and games. My sons were like grandsons to Carol and they treated her just like a Grandma. My son Tommy (age 5) took the news especially hard. He was upset he did not get to say goodbye, he did not get to try one of her berries from her garden (she always wanted him to try), but especially he did not get the chance to learn the piano. He played a variety of different musical instruments with Carol at her house. I am just honored that she touched our family with such grace, happiness and kindness. The world would be a perfect place if people had 1/2 of the heart that Carol had. I know that the Ahl Family will miss her!!!! We will keep playing the Mexican Domino Train Game that she bought us!!

Dearest Andy and Chris,
Your mom was such a ray of sunshine in my life and everyone else's life. She was a beautiful women and I miss her so much. She lives in the same neighboorhood as my parents and whenever I go and visit my mom and dad, I always made sure that I went and saw her. She never said anything mean about anyone, never got mad at anyone. She always had something nice to say about everybody. I will miss her dearly. May she rest in peace.

My sons and I had the honor to know Mrs. Goranson only 2 short weeks, as we were new piano students, but she left an impression as big as life with us. She was remarkable with my two young sons. I am so sorry for your loss and deeply saddened because I know what could have been for us! She was truly a gifted person. God Bless.

Chris & Andy,
We will all miss your mothers smile, words of encouragement, praise, kindness and hugs. Even though we live so many miles away and only have known her for a few years, we feel we are loosing a true friend. She touched our hearts in so many ways, more than we realized. Time at the lake will not be the same, without seeing her smiling face with a fishing pole in her hand. You are truly in our thoughts and prayers.

I was one of the fortunate ones who got to spend time with Carol on Thursday, October 12th. Carol was always an energetic, fun-loving person who shared words of kindness and encouragement with everyone around her. That Thursday, there was something even more special about her and I remember when I saw her she struck me as being even more radiant than ever. At that meeting, she took extra time to tell everyone just how special each one was to her. The words of encouragement she gave me that day, the hug, the smile, the “I love you” will always be carried in my heart. Carol, I will miss you dearly.

Camp Clover Point where are you? I knew Carol Hess as a youth leader at the Missouri Recreation Leadership Camp in the 1960s. Her love of music was so strong and she would fill the mess hall as she got the group to sing "Where does the wind come from?" and "I want to linger". Thank you for sharing the love of music with so many. May you continue to sing always.

Carol was a wonderful example of a caring, dedicated and thoughtful person. We roomed together just last July at the Federation of Music Clubs convention and had several deep discussions about life and faith. I know she is in God's hands and pray that He will be your strength during this difficult time. What a creative, fun and whacky gal. She will be sorely missed

I will forever miss her gracious charm and her poetic use of words in her thank you notes she sent to me. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and music students.

The director has left our sight, but the music that was Carol lives on in our hearts and lilts through our memories with the joy, the sweetness and the unexpectedness that was her essence. While that lives on in us, so does she. Teacher, sister, friend, we are your legacy...thank you.

I remember Carol as a wonderful, creative, inventive teacher at the Synod School for the Synod of Lakes and Prairies, Presbyterian Church USA and a church school teacher at Central Presbyterian Church. She had many gifts to share. She was loved by the children and the adults she worked with.
Carol will be greatly missed! And, we give thanks for her life and presence with us.
