Carol Lou Lazarus 87 years young, Simi Valley, CA. passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, in Thousand Oaks, CA after a long battle with dementia.
Carol was laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in Los Angeles on 7-1-2025 close to her mother, sister, grandparents and uncles.
Carol Lou Burns was born in Long Beach, CA to Robert & Bella Burns on August 18, 1937. She grew up in Venice California. Graduating from Venice High School in 1955. Post high school graduation she worked as a teller for Bank of America where she met and later married Shelton Lazarus and had three children. Carol enjoyed traveling the world, visiting museums, attending movie screenings and collecting all things Lions. She took being a Leo and her Irish Heritage very seriously. She loved get togethers with her Venice High School Friends and the close friendships she maintained with her Real Estate colleagues.
Carol is survived by her three children, Stephanie, Judi and Steven. Her grandchildren Matthew, Rebecca, Daniel, Sydney and four great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father Robert Burns, her mother Bella Little, stepfather Jack Little and her sister Jamie Little
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Thousand Oaks Post-Acute nurses who cared for Carol during her stay, as well as Rose Family Funeral Home for their professionalism and assistance in handling our mother's arrangements.
