Carol Louise Lewer born in Milwaukee, WI on September 14th, 1931, to the late Gilbert and Mary Schmitt Lofye. Carol passed unexpectedly, but peacefully on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, at St. Camillus Retirement Community.
Carol was deeply proud of her family and found immense joy in her role as a grandmother. She will be forever missed and cherished by her daughter, Tracy (Jeff) Spielman, and her three grandchildren Kelly (Marty) Sanchez, Allison and Emily Spielman who brought light and laughter into her life and with whom she shared many treasured memories.
She will be further remembered by her brother Gil and sister-in-law Jan Lofye, other relatives, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother Phillip Lofye and longtime companion, Luther "Lewie" Lewer.
Carol found her calling as a Kindergarten teacher and dedicated her career to education for over 25 years in the Milwaukee public school system. Her long and impactful career as a teacher left a lasting mark on generations of students, colleagues, and families. Known for her warmth, patience, and quiet strength, Carol inspired those around her with her steadfast commitment to learning and kindness.
Visitation Friday, May 23 at St. Camillus. 10100 W. Bluemound Rd. Wauwatosa, WI 53226 in the Guardian Angel Chapel at 10:00 AM until time of Mass at 11:00 AM.
