Carol Ann Long

Carol A. Long, Potosi, WI passed away at her home after a long battle with cancer on October 17, 2024. She was born July 16, 1949, to Donald and Ruby (Revenig) Marshall. Carol married John Long in July 1966. They had three children: Christine, Thomas, and Cynthia. They lived and worked on the Long Bros. Farm, in Bagley, until October 1988. After leaving the farm, they moved to the Potosi area and Carol took up cleaning houses until her health no longer allowed her to do so. She enjoyed the people that she cleaned for and formed many long-lasting relationships.

Carol enjoyed playing cards, watching movies, fishing, and traveling with her family. Despite her pain, she ran circles around everyone else if there was something that needed to be done.

Over the last several years, Carol fought a battle against six different types of cancer. She kept a positive attitude and was determined to continue and meet her first great-granddaughter, Ellie.

Carol is survived by her children: Christine (Tim Tolle) Long, Tom (Deanna Brennum) Long, and Cindy Long; her grandchildren: Alexis Tolle, Paige (Breck) Havemann, and Jacob Long; her great-granddaughter, Ellie Havemann; her brother, Glen Marshall, best friend and sister-in-law, Jenny Marshall, sister Donna (Kevin Bierman) Crubel and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by John Long, her parents Donald and Ruby, her mother-in-law Edith Long, and her in-laws.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Bloomington with Pastor Greg Marsh officiating. Burial will be in Blakes Prairie Cemetery, Bloomington. Family and friends may visit on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
