Services for Carol Ann Loomis, who passed away on June 21, 2025 at the age of 88, will be on Wednesday July 9th at 11:00AM at St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, Blue Earth. Minnesota. A time for visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, July 8th, from 5:00-7:00PM at Spencer Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago and one hour before the service at the church.
Carol was born on August 10, 1937, in Wells, Minnesota to Peter and Mary (Hassing) Staloch. She graduated from Wells High School, then received a Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from the College of St. Catherine and a Master’s Degree in English Education from the University of Minnesota. She taught high school English for several years and later was a substitute teacher. For many years, Carol was the director of religious education at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Winnebago, Minnesota and was also a part time librarian at Muir Library in Winnebago. Gardening was one of her hobbies, and for many years operated a farmers’ market with her husband Paul.
On June 16, 1962, Carol married Paul Loomis of Albert Lea. They were blessed with a son Mark and a daughter Jean.
Carol is survived by her son Mark, daughter Jean (David) Olson; granddaughters, Beatrice and Abigail; and a great grandson, Scott. She is also survived by her sisters, Delores (Herzberg), Sharon (Kuechenmeister), and Joan (Larson); brothers, Marvin and Richard, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, an infant son, brother Robert, and sister Dorothy (Sonnek)
