Carol Ann McCormick (née Martz), 82, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, in White Stone, Virginia. Born on January 19, 1943, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Carol was the daughter of the late George and Ann Martz. Carol shared a remarkable 65-year marriage with her beloved husband, Charles McCormick. They celebrated their milestone anniversary this past July, a testament to their unwavering bond and shared journey through life. Together they built a loving home and raised two children: Charles "Chuck" McCormick and Debra "Debbe" Shapiro. Carol also welcomed her son-in-law Stephen Shapiro into the family with warmth and affection.
She took great pride in her role as a nana to granddaughter Melody Appel (husband David Appel) and grandson, Erik Kellenberger, Hamilton and Reese Appel, great grandchildren cherishing every moment spent with them. Carol's sister, Kathy Walsh (husband Tommy Walsh) and lots of nieces and nephews also held a special places in her heart. Her sweet Noel by her side. Cindy Duncan shared her love of purple.
Throughout her life, Carol was known as a devoted wife, mother, nana and dear friend. Her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her, and her memory will be treasured by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
