"There is no peace, like the peace Jesus can bring."
Carol Anne McCrum, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and dear friend peacefully passed away surrounded by family members on Wednesday morning, July 9, 2025 at the age of 77, after battling stage 4 lung cancer.
Born on November 27, 1947 in Colchester, CT., Carol lived a life full of love and laughter. She was a nurse for 40+ years and specialized in caring for cancer patients and for the elderly. She touched countless lives and would do whatever had to be done to ensure her patients were lovingly cared for with the highest degree of skill and compassion.
She was also a passionate animal advocate who had an immense love for animals, particularly those in need. She was a dedicated supporter of local shelters, volunteering her time and resources to help every animal find a loving home. Carol also shared a deep loving bond with her horses who she cherished as part of her family and brought her immense joy and fulfillment. She spent many days deep in the mountains of Montana with the Backcountry Horseman and formed a close bond with many members. She was also a member of the National Bluebird Society and would travel 50+ miles on horseback to clean out every nesting box each year. Carol also volunteered at Seconds 2 Go Thrift and Gifts in Polson, MT, with proceeds benefitting the local animal shelter.
Her family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the dedicated team at Adoration Hospice of
Chattanooga, TN for their compassionate care and support during Carol's final days. Their help allowed her to remain comfortable in her son's home surrounded by those she loved.
