Carol Corrine Mund (nee Winter) passed peacefully on May 3, 2025 in Morristown Medical Center at the age of 94.Carol was born on April 10, 1931 and grew up in Hempstead Long Island. As an inquisitive and witty teenager she headed off to Cornell University to find her future. Carol married her college sweetheart, Chuck, right after graduation thus beginning 72 years together. Moving to Europe as part of the army life, they made the most of military leave time by traveling throughout the continent. Later, back in the states, Carol enjoyed a career as an interior designer while her husband went to graduate school. As Chuck climbed the corporate ladder, on his way to establishing several businesses, she raised their two sons. Carol and Chuck were intrepid travelers. They would frequently head off on their own to some new part of the world and later in life took advantage of Cornell Adult University study tours. They visited every continent and over 100 countries. Continuing her education with an MBA, Carol followed many artistic pursuits in painting, sculpture, flower arranging, and choral singing. She gained a wealth of knowledge on culture and nature and with experience, success and love Carol became a woman of elegance and nobility. Both Carol and Chuck served as alumni class officers at Cornell, helping organize reunions, and being named Foremost Benefactors. They supported several philanthropies and set up a number of scholarship funds. Carol was predeceased by her husband, Chuck, and is survived by her sons Chuck (Sharon) and Eric (Stephanie) and grandchildren, Nyna, Sage and Alicia.
