Carol Ann Nails, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, at the age of 82 in
Darien, IL. Born on August 12, 1942, in Chicago, IL. Carol's life was a journey marked by warm memories that livened up the lives of all who knew her. Carol's early years in Chicago were filled with the spirited adventures of youth, cruising around with her late friend Betty Ann in a convertible, and memories of the parties held by her fun-loving parents at their home in Cicero.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Carol's legacy is carried on through her children: Patrick (Joanne) Nails, Donna Nails (Victor Colta), and Diann Nails (Robert Kamka). Her grandchildren, Katherine (Mike) Geoghegan and Julie Nails, will forever cherish the liveliness and humor she imparted. Carol also leaves behind her brother, Anthony (Birute) Rudinski.
Carol's zest for life was evident in her varied interests and how she chose to spend her time. She found great joy in wintering at her condo on Redington Beach, FL, where the sun and sea were constant companions. Her sociable spirit shone through during dominoes games with her cherished Chicago and Florida girlfriends, moments that were always full of laughter and camaraderie.
Vacationing with her son and his family at their Jersey Shore home was among Carol's favorite ways to create lasting memories. The simple pleasure of eating ice cream, lunching with her girlfriends, observing hummingbirds at her feeder on her balcony and watching "Wheel of Fortune" brought her immense happiness. Carol's love for long phone conversations with her late mother remained a treasured connection throughout her life.
As we bid farewell to Carol Ann Nails, we celebrate a life lived with boundless laughter and energy. Carol's journey through life was marked by the delight she brought to others, and her memory will be treasured in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
