Carol Orlovsky Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Silverton Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Service - Toms River on Oct. 1, 2025.
Carol Spicer Orlovsky, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, in Brick, NJ, at the age of 76.
Born in Orange, NJ, on October 16, 1948, Carol was the daughter of Norman and Laura Spicer. After graduating from Clifford J. Scott High School in East Orange, NJ, she earned a bachelor's degree in nutrition from Montclair State College. She began her career as a nutritionist at West Orange Hospital and later worked as a home economics teacher at St. Claire Shores Middle School. She ultimately dedicated herself to her family – a role she cherished above all else.
In 1970, Carol married her beloved husband, Dale Orlovsky, in East Orange, NJ. Together, they settled in Toms River, NJ, where they raised their four sons. Carol was their biggest fan, a constant presence in the bleachers, cheering them on. Her devotion to their interests extended to her role as "Mother of the Rock" for the Toms River North Football Boosters Club and as founder of the school's Golf Boosters Club.
Carol's lively and creative spirit shone through in all aspects of her life. She enjoyed many hobbies, including crafts, book club, mahjong, and selling the signature products from Mary Kay, Longaberger, and Tupperware that she also collected. She lovingly celebrated new family members and milestone events with handmade quilts, knitted blankets or clothing, and monogrammed gifts. Carol was also a fashion enthusiast, always on the cutting edge of trends. She carefully curated her wardrobe, extensive purse collection, and beautifully decorated home that reflected each season and current style. A consummate homemaker, she kept an immaculate home, a testament to her high standards and meticulous nature, despite the challenges of her four sons and a husband.
Above all, Carol will be remembered for her fierce loyalty and deep love for her family. She is survived by her husband, Dale, of Manchester, NJ, and her four sons and their families:
Rod and Michelle Orlovsky of Barnegat, NJ, and their children, Mason, Sloan, and Talia; Rod's son, Jake Orlovsky, and his mother, Florence Benzel, of Toms River, NJ.
David Orlovsky and his husband, K.C. Veio, of Denver, CO.
Christopher and Ali Orlovsky of Queensbury, NY, and their children, Sasha and Miles.
Jordan Orlovsky of Albany, NY.
She is also survived by her sisters, Norma Gyle and Beverly Clark. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Laura Spicer.
A funeral service to celebrate Carol's life will be held at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, September 14, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Joseph Sorce officiating.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity or church of your choice in memory of Carol. They extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who enriched Carol's life with friendship and love.
