Carol Jane Rathman

Carol J. Rathman, nee White, 87, of Streamwood passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024. Beloved wife of Dyrle D. Rathman for over 67 years. Devoted mother of "Her Five Boys," Cory (Reneé), Dana (Darlene), Jody, Kurt (Nancy) and Bryce (Brenda). Loving grandmother of Ryan (Jessica), Cara (Justin), Anna (Dan), Jillian (Marc), Jake, Jordan (Sean), Nicholas (Amanda), Brendon (Allyssa), Ryley, Brea (William), and Brody (Bethany). Caring great grandmother of sixteen. Cherished sister of Patricia (the late William) Kopp and the late Richard Thomas White. Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews. Born December 31, 1936 in Peoria, Illinois to the late Richard and Dorothy White.
Carol graduated from Maine Township High School and attended Illinois State Normal University. She married Dyrle Rathman on December 29, 1956 at Des Plaines United Methodist Church. As a young family, Dyrle and Carol moved into a new community, Hoffman Estates and joined Our Saviour's Methodist Church (OSUMC). Carol served OSUMC in many roles, as well as volunteering countless hours of her time and her incredible talents. A faithful and dedicated member of OSUMC, Carol made an immeasurable impact on the church and community.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 10 AM until time of service at 11AM at Our Saviour's United Methodist Church, 701 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg. Interment at Memorial Wall at Our Saviour's United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers donations will be appreciated to the Memorial Wall at Our Saviour's United Methodist Church, 701 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg, Il 60194.
