Carol (Otto) Roeker, age 72, passed away in her home on May 22, 2024 under the care of CHI Hospice.
Carol Ann Otto was born on June 27, 1951 to Walter and Margaret Otto. At age seven her father died, and Richard Otto stepped in to care for the family and was a father figure to Carol. Carol grew up in Robinson, ND and graduated from high school in 1969. She attended Valley City State College and received her degree in Elementary Education. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Ensz and from this union, the couple was blessed with one son, Josh. Kenneth Ensz passed away in 2004 due to complications from agent orange. Carol married Ken Roeker on July 3, 2006. The couple made their homes in both Jamestown and LaMoure. Carol enjoyed her career as a teacher, working odd jobs in the summer months, sewing, and reading.
Carol is survived by her husband, Ken; her son, Josh; two step-children, Kent (Dani) Roeker and Amanda Lawrence; her brother, Duane (Pat) Otto; two sisters Sandy (Kevin) Kelly and Valerie (Steve) Tripp and two grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her first husband, her parents, Walter, Margaret & Richard Otto, one brother Terry Otto; two sisters, Faye Friez and Joyce Otto and an infant son, Christopher.
A memorial service for Carol will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene in LaMoure with visitation one hour prior. Carol's service will be live streamed.
