Carol Semrau Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DuPont Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 30, 2026.
Carol (Semrau) Brennan, 92, of Farmington and formerly of Bristol passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026. She was together in marriage with Edward W. Brennan for 55 years before his passing in 2006. Born on August 13, 1933, in Bristol, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Elizabeth (Muir) Semrau.

A lifelong member of Prospect United Methodist Church, she was also a Past Worthy Matron of Olivet Chapter #29 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Bristol, CT.

Carol loved her quiet home in the Chippens Hill area of Bristol where she lived for 58 years before moving to Middlewoods of Farmington where she spent the last eight years. There her warm and social spirit continued to flourish and she formed many cherished friendships. She embraced the community with enthusiasm, took part in activities she truly enjoyed, including bell choir, bocce, baking, painting, and exercise programs. The fun, companionship, and laughter she shared there brought her great joy.

At the heart of Carol's life was her family and she is lovingly remembered by her children: Steven Brennan of Waldorf, Maryland; Scott Brennan and his wife, Lorin Pasternak, of Manchester, Connecticut; Todd Brennan and his wife, Judy Brennan, of Poway, California; Timothy Brennan and his wife, Dottie Tackett, of Waldorf, Maryland; and Kara Dion and her husband, John Ingriselli, of Marion, Connecticut. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Robert Dion. She also leaves behind her dear brother, William Semrau, and her beloved sister, Susan Robotham, both of Avon, Connecticut, as well as nine cherished grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews who will hold her memory close.

A Celebration of Carol's life will be held at a future date. She will be laid to rest in West Cemetery, Bristol, at the convenience of the family.
