Carol B. Lambert Tapp, age 79, of Royal Oak Drive, Winchester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at her home.
Born August 12, 1946, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Luster Lambert and Martha Jane McBrayer Lambert. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gordon Lambert and Michael Lambert; her in-laws, Robert J. and Maye Tapp; and a sister-in-law, Betty McDonald.
Carol is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, Carl Thomas "Tom" Tapp, whom she married March 15, 1986; two daughters, Julie Montgomery and Amy Hargis, both of Winchester; two stepchildren, Andria Tapp and Wesley Tapp; her sister-in-law, Ginny Lambert; two brothers-in-law, Robert (Janet) Tapp and Kermit (Delores) Tapp; as well as several loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and dear friends.
Carol was an independent contractor and builder, an exceptional interior decorator, and a talented floral arranger. She also owned and managed rental property and was employed for a number of years by Sherwin-Williams. She and her husband Tom enjoyed preparing gourmet meals, tending floral and vegetable gardens, golfing, and fishing. Known for her creativity and perfectionism, Carol took great pride in everything she did, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Tim Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in McBrayer Cemetery on Lower Oak Grove Road, Morehead.
Pallbearers will be Dwaine Shepherd, George Head, Heather Head, Chris Chipley, Jeremiah Wright, and Diane Lambert.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
