Carol A. Tierney, age 87, of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on April 24, 2024, at Apple Rehab Hewitt. She was the beloved wife of Frank Tierney.
She was born in Derby, on April 5, 1937, daughter of the late Lloyd and Edna (Cadorat) Manna.
She loved working as a bus monitor for Shelton Public Schools where the kids would affectionately call her Grandma Carol. She loved riding on the motorcycle cross country with her husband, camping with her family, playing dirty bingo, eating her favorite foods; potato salad and KFC's coleslaw, spending time with her beloved Thumper and her grand-pups, Lucy, Zoey, and Opie. Carol's favorite saying was "Latida-Fillalide, and twidali do.
Carol is survived by her son, John Gudsnuk and his wife Tina Vendrella Gudsnuk, daughter, Kathleen Tierney, Daughter in law Heather Shaw, grandson Jonathan Gudsnuk, who she loved and adored, especially when he would tease her about UCONN Women's Basketball, granddaughter, Amanda Scarpulla, sister, Lisa Dumas, and several great-grandchildren,cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister and brother in law, Barbara and Michael Salemme.
Carol's family would like to invite everyone to her memorial mass on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton has been entrusted with her cremation.

Carol loved her family and lit up a room whenever one would visit. She loved to interact with anyone she met. She will be missed.
