Carol Marie White, 88, of Sullivan, MO, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2025, in Union, Missouri surrounded by her family. She was born on September 15, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, to Russell and Catherine (McFarland) Jessee. Carol grew up in Chicago and attended St. Angela's Academy in Morris, Illinois, where she graduated in 1956. The values and education instilled in her by the Sisters of Notre Dame shaped Carol into the compassionate and wise woman loved by all who knew her.
Carol's early career as a telephone operator was marked by her warm voice and a genuine desire to help others. Her life took a joyous turn when she married the love of her life, Robert White, on June 27, 1958. Carol and Robert's loving partnership was blessed with six children: Jane, Michael, Mary, Eddie, Randy, and Tina. In 1964, the family moved to Sullivan, Missouri, where Carol devoted herself to creating a nurturing home. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
A Catholic by faith, Carol lived her beliefs through her actions, exuding grace and generosity. She faithfully attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church and was always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear. Her kind spirit and faith-filled life were sources of inspiration and comfort to those around her.
Carol's interests were simple yet filled with warmth. She found joy in the kitchen, cooking for her family, and indulging in her favorite daytime television dramas. In her retirement years, Carol and Bob enjoyed escaping the Missouri winters for the warmth of Florida, creating cherished memories with every trip. In the last weeks of her life, she enjoyed being visited daily by Lori Gargus to whom the family is greatly appreciative.
Carol is survived by her children: Mary White of Affton, MO, Randy White and Tina White, both of Sullivan, MO; 6 grandchildren: J.R. White and wife, Madison, Holly White all of Checotah, OK; Matthew White of Rolla, MO, April White of Jefferson City, MO, Zac White and fiancée, Kelly Campbell of Sullivan, MO, and Kayla White of Union, MO; 7 great grandchildren: Riley, Lylie, Luna, Junior, James, Autumn & Gabriel; a sister, Catherine Hafferkamp of Greer, SC; special nieces, Mary Petriak & Deb Rood, both of Greer, SC; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; a daughter, Jane White; two sons: Michael White and Eddie White; a granddaughter, Brandy Marsh; her parents, Russell & Catherine Jessee; and siblings, Russell Jessee and Joanne Haganow.
Services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at the Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan, MO with Father Noah Waldman officiating. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F Cemetery, Sullivan.
