Jerry Lee Albright, 71, of
Sullivan, MO, formerly of Troy, MO, passed away peacefully at his home, Saturday, April 5, 2025. Born on November 12, 1953, in Lincoln, Illinois, Jerry's journey through life was one marked by dedication, joy, and the love of those around him.
Jerry's early years were spent in the community of St. Clair, Missouri, where he grew up and attended local schools. His early years in life laid a strong foundation for the man he would become. Jerry's work ethic was evident from a young age, and it was this drive that propelled him into a lifelong career in truck driving. He spent much of his life traversing the roads of United States, demonstrating an exceptional talent behind the wheel.
In 1995, Jerry's life took a joyous turn when he married Karen Nuckols on November 13th. Their union not only brought them happiness but also expanded Jerry's family, as he inherited a son, Joseph, and was a loving father to his daughter, Miki. The family found harmony and love in their shared experiences, and Jerry's role as a husband and father was one he cherished deeply.
Jerry's dedication to his career was unwavering, and he took immense pride in his impeccable safety record, retiring with no accidents over an impressive 44-year span. His passion for truck driving was a constant throughout his life, and it was this passion that he carried with him when he and Karen moved to Sullivan in 2019. Even after his retirement, the memories of the open road and the friendships he made along the way remained dear to him.
Beyond his professional life, Jerry had a zest for life and a variety of interests that he pursued with enthusiasm. His love for music was a particular joy, and he could often be found strumming his guitar or playing the keyboards, filling his home with melodies and warmth. Jerry also had an affinity for hunting and fishing and took pleasure in shared memories with Joseph as they enjoyed nature together.
Jerry's generosity and spirited personality extended into his community involvement as well. Together with Karen, he volunteered regularly at the House of Hope in Sullivan. There, Jerry became a known character, his friendly face and engaging stories a source of comfort and camaraderie to many who walked through the doors.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Karen; his children, Miki (Albright) Davidson of Staunton, IL and Joseph Nuckols and wife, Becky of Foley, MO; his grandchildren, Dakota of Staunton, IL and Makenzi of Foley, MO; a sister, Bernice Hanback of Phoenix, AZ; sisters-in-law: Kathy Albright of North Port, FL, Cheryl Schieffer of Troy, MO, and Becky Thomas and husband, Tim of Forest Lake, MN; a brother-in-law, Gerald Nuckols and wife, Heather of Moscow Mills, MO; special friends, Gale & Terry Pope of Sorento, IL and Jim & Jen Brown of East Carondelet, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Christina Albright; and a brother & sister, Bill Albright and Lavada Albright.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place through the care of the Eaton Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Sullivan.
