She was born to Edward and Lola (Berry) Cooper on July 5, 1930, in Knox County, Indiana. She married Tom Whitehead, who preceded her in death in 2019. She is also preceded in death by her parents and 6 siblings.
Carol Ann worked as a cook at Holiday Manor Nursing Home in Petersburg before putting all her time into be a homemaker, and loved having family dinners. She was an excellent cook, famous for her homemade noodles. She also enjoyed gardening and canning everything.
She is survived by her son, Lon Whitehead; daughters: Karla (Randy) Hamm & Sandy (Randy) Bailey; grandchildren: Stacy (Kevin) Huelsman, Kimberly (Cody) Shoultz & Skyla (Luke) Melhiser; and great grandchildren: Craig, Mabry, A.J., Paxton & Cooper.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg, Indiana, with Pastor Mike Roach officiating.
