Carole (Gregg) Binkley, 92, of Warsaw, Indiana passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born October 10, 1932, in Columbia City, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late H. Randall and Wanda Opal (Riddle) Gregg.
She attended the West Ward and Columbia City High School graduating with the class of 1950. Carole was employed at United Telephone Co. and in the offices of Whitley Products at the time of her marriage to Jack M. Binkley on May 2, 1954. Their first home was in Seymour, Missouri where Jack was stationed in the Air Force at Fordland Air Base.
As well as being a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Carole served as a church organist for a number of years and worked in the nursery school program at First Church of God following a career with the local newspaper where her father learned the printing trade as an apprentice in 1917. She was a third-generation employee of the newspaper. She also worked at Our Compliments Gift Shop where she acquired an interest in collectibles.
Carole is survived by her children, Angie (Gene) Pletcher, Polly (David) Behm, Brent Binkley all of the Columbia City area; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson with a great-great granddaughter on the way. Along with her parents, Carole is preceded in death by her husband, Jack M. Binkley; brothers, James, Lewis, and Gordon Gregg.
Funeral service will be 10:30 am Tuesday, May 13, 2025, with visitation from 9:00 am - 10:30 am at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Burial will take place at Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City, Indiana. Memorial donations may be given in memory of Carole to Trinity Presbyterian Church or Alzheimer's Foundation.
