It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carole A. Marko, a beloved resident of Shrewsbury, MA for 47 years. Carole died peacefully after a long illness on Friday, June 20th, with her husband by her side.

Carole is survived by her husband of 64 years, Arthur D. Marko, and her adored children, Allan A. Marko and his wife Christine F. Chufo of San Francisco, CA, and Jonathan D. Marko of Newton, MA. She also leaves behind her cherished siblings, Gayle J. Goodson of San Jose, CA, and her brother, Robert H. Soucy of Corrales, NM, along with several nieces and nephews and their children. Carole was preceded in death by her sister, Claire J. Hines of Oxford, MA, and her parents, Robert J. and Jeanette C. Soucy of San Jose, CA (formerly of Worcester, MA.)

Born in Worcester, Carole was a proud graduate of Commerce High School, Class of 1960. Carole and Arthur's story began on Grafton Hill in Worcester, MA, where they grew up just a few blocks apart and met at his parents' luncheonette. She then enjoyed a long career co-owning and managing Crystal Rug Company in Worcester, MA with Arthur. They shared countless memories together, including over 20 years of annual trips to Aruba each February with family and friends.

Carole was a longtime active member within the Shrewsbury Women's Club and the Garden Club. She found joy participating in a bocce league, playing mahjong, and was an exceptionally talented cross-stitcher, earning numerous awards for

her needlework.

Carole's warmth, creativity, playful sense of humor, and commitment to her family and community touched the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours at the Chiampa Funeral Home, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury on Monday, June 30th, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury, on Tuesday, July 1st, at 11:00 AM.
