Carole Dianne Radeztsky passed away on the evening of November 8, 2025 after several years of struggle with Alzheimer's. Carole was born to the late Calvin and Delores Cook (Keys) on January 18, 1945 in Marshfield, Wisc. Carole attended and graduated from Colby High School.
She married Emil Radeztsky on November 11, 1961. Carole and Emil had two children, Scott and Julie. Although she was happy with her life, she wanted to reach out and accomplish more. She enrolled in the St. Joseph's Nursing program to find a purpose in her life. After graduating from the nursing program, Carole worked for several years in the neo natal unit at St. Joseph's Hospital where she was able to save the lives of numerous infants. She made several trips to outlying hospitals to bring premature babies back to St. Joseph's Hospital. Carole continued her nursing career at the Marshfield Clinic as she worked as a nurse in the OBGYN unit assisting women during their pregnancy.
After her divorce, Carole continued to work at the clinic until her retirement in 2004. Shortly thereafter, Carole became a fitness coach at the Marshfield YMCA where she was able to assist individuals become healthier. This is where she was reintroduced to Tom Bitner who would become Carole's husband on October 1, 2015 and they would share the desire to travel; trips to Europe, Asia, and Central America soon followed.
Carole is survived by her husband, Tom Bitner; stepson, Thomas; her children; brothers, Dennis and Jeff; as well as sister, Sharon; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her special friends, Kathy Dean, Susan Vonderheid, and Ramona Simpson. These women continued to love and support Carole, as all others abandoned her during her struggle with this life ending disease. Predecessors include her parents; brothers, Douglas and Terrance; and stepdaughter, Jennifer Bitner.
According to Carole's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service, and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Tom wishes to thank Wells Nature View and St. Croix Hospice for the care given to Carole during the later stages of life.

Yesterday

I worked with Carole in the NICU many years ago. We had a lot of fun. She was a very good nurse. I got to be her patient when I had some GYN issues. She was great. I'm sorry for your loss. I'll never forget her voice or laugh.
