Carolee L. Bittle, 82, of Kutztown passed away Wednesday January 28, 2026. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth B. and Anna M. (Anderson) Bittle.

She was a 1961 graduate of Muhlenberg High School & a 1964 graduate of Kutztown State College where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education

Carolee was a retired teacher with the Hamburg School District, where she dedicated over 30 years to educating and supporting her students. She taught second grade at Strausstown Elementary School. Teaching was more than a career for her—it was a calling, She carried her love of learning throughout her life. Following her retirement from Hamburg School District, Carolee volunteered with the Ready-Set-Read program.

She was deeply involved in her community and a member of the Rotary Club, Women’s Club, Garden Club, and Book Club. Carolee believed strongly in service, friendship, and staying connected with her community. She gave her time generously to the people and causes she cared about. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Tuckerton.

Carolee found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved gardening, reading, and quietly watching the birds in her yard. She loved her cat Patches. She especially cherished time spent with her close friends Vicki and Cathy, as well as her cousin Pat. A very special bond was shared with her niece Kaity, who held a dear place in her heart.

One of her favorite poems was Success by Edgar Albert Guest.

I hold no dream of fortune vast, Nor seek undying fame,

I do not ask when life is past, that many know my name.

I may not own the skill to rise to glory’s topmost height

Nor win a place among the wise, but I can keep the right.

And I can live my life on earth, contented to the end,

If but a few shall know my worth and proudly call me friend.

Carolee is survived by her sister, Jennifer, wife of the late Frederick K. Folk of Bayfield Co, her nieces Joann Mark and Katrina Walker; her nephew Bruce Leibig Sr.,and many great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom will remember her for her kindness, dedication, and bold spirit.

She is predeceased by her sister Irma Leibig and niece Tammy Dunn.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services are private. Her desire was to leave her earthly life quietly and without ceremony. Donations to a local animal shelter of your choice would be appreciated.
