Caroline Jane Lenker, 97, of Wabash, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 5:54 am, Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Wellbrooke of Wabash. She was born on July 31, 1928, in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, to Earl and Mildred (Nearhoof) Houck.
Caroline married Rev. Lee Lenker in Pleasant Gap, Pennsylvania on January 19, 1946; he died August 27, 2007. She was a minister's wife for more than 30 years, taught Christian Day School for 8 years, and also volunteered at the Wabash County Hospital. Caroline was a former member of the Washington Street Wesleyan Church and was a current member of the Colerain Street Community Church. She wrote several poems and also wrote programs for church functions. Caroline had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved the Lord, loved her family, and enjoyed playing games with them and sewing.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Donald) Drudge of Wabash; grandchildren, Bonnie (Glen) Miller of Ligonier, Indiana, Steven (Julie) Coffman of Warsaw, Michael Coffman of Peru, Indiana, and Danielle (Shawn) Bishop and Barry (Drema) Drudge, both of North Manchester, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Kayla (Jeremiah) Stump of McCordsville, Indiana, Caleb (Marin) Coffman of Cookeville, Tennessee, Evan (Alissa) Coffman of Wabash, Indiana, Jason (Robin) Coffman and Justin (Madison) Coffman, both of Warsaw, Jonathon (Breanna) Woodward of Syracuse, Indiana, Aaron Miller of Ligonier, Logan Bishop, Sebastian Bishop, and Zack Drudge, all of North Manchester, and Mia Drudge of Virginia; six great great grandchildren; and her sister, Joan Houck of Huntington, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, James Houck and Ronald Houck, and her sister, Betty Knepley.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Friday, October 17, 2025, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Rev. Steve Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 am Friday at the funeral home.
