Carolyn Avery a loving mother and grandmother often known for her gentle and kind spirit passed away Friday, July 4, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Rev. LaVon Phillips will officiate.
The family will receive friends prior to service on Wednesday from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Carolyn is survived by her son, James E. Avery, Jr. and wife, Lesley; daughter, Melissa Rader and husband, John; grandsons, Judah and Noah Avery, and her granddaughters, Kerstyn and Paetyn Rader.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of thirty-nine years, James Avery; parents, John Henry and Mildred Murray, and her sisters, Brenda Muelhbauer and Vickie Murray.
