Carolyn A. Bodenhausen, 95, Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
She was born May 1, 1929 to William and Anna (Stuber) Sommer.
Carolyn graduated from Central High School in 1947, carrying with her the seeds of the wisdom and grace she would continue to cultivate throughout her life. Her unwavering faith was evident in her long-standing membership at Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church, where she actively served on various committees. Carolyn's musical talents graced the congregation of Hope Church for many years, where she lovingly played the organ and piano.
Carolyn was a woman of strong faith, loved the Lord, a prayer warrior and served with humility.
She was a faithful farm wife. Working hard on the farm, helping in every capacity whenever needed.
Carolyn's warmth extended to her kitchen, where she lovingly prepared meals and baked pies that were the heart of family gatherings.
Her life was marked by her loving nature, her kind heart, and her spirited demeanor. These qualities endeared her to a host of friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin E. Bodenhausen; her grandson, Andrew "Drew" Bodenhausen; parents; brother, William L. Sommer; and sister, Evelyn Schindler.
Survivors include Sons, David Bodenhausen (Debbie), Galen Bodenhausen (Robin), Brian Bodenhausen (Lisa); grandchildren, Brandon Bodenhausen (Kelli), Stephen Bodenhausen (Ruth), Patrick Bodenhausen (Ashley), Erich Bodenhausen (Andrea), Chase Bodenhausen (Holly), Justin Bodenhausen (Abby), Bethany Frisbie (Jason), Luke Bodenhausen (Amanda), Seth Bodenhausen (Gina), Arielle Bodenhausen; eighteen great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.
