Carolyn Helen (Kay) Bolinger
Died November 11, 2025
Leland Twp. - Carolyn Helen Bolinger, 88, of Leland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
Carolyn was born on November 9, 1937 in Brookville, Indiana, the daughter of Harold and Eileen (Mugavin) Blackmore. On January 05, 1957, in Terre Haute, Indiana she married the love of her life, William S. Bolinger. William preceded her in death on July 15, 2024.
Carolyn attended Indiana University and was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. She remained active in Alpha Phi activities throughout her life. She was a member of the Leland Country Club and enjoyed her play in the Ladies golf league. She was a member of the Leland Yacht Club and served many duties of that group and even sailed as a crew member for her son.
She and her husband lived in St. Louis, MO until 1995 when they moved to Leland as permanent residents.
Carolyn is survived by her children, William S. (Sue) Bolinger Jr., Deborah S. Hoadley, and David P. Bolinger; her grandchildren, Sarah Garno, Jenny Thompson, Michael Bolinger, Ben Thirlby, Drew Bolinger, TJ Hoadley, and Tyler Bolinger; and her great-grandchildren, Chandler Garno, Shawn O'Connor, Emma Walk, Mason Bolinger, Quinn Bolinger, Sawyer Garno, Myra Walk, Connor Bolinger, and Carter Bolinger. She is also survived by her sisters, Barb Hvoshinsky and Brenda Varner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, William, and her sister Charlene Jo Blackmore.
Private family graveside services and burial will take place at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at Northport Highlands Assisted Living for their love and compassion given to Kay during her time at that facility.
