Carolyn Coburn Obituary

Growing up on a farm in Mercer County as an only child, June cherished fishing with her parents. She earned her degree in Secondary Education from Asbury College, where she met her husband, Robert Fred Coburn. They married in 1968 and raised three children: Thomas, Sarah, and Rachel. June later earned a Master's in Education from Eastern Kentucky University.
June was a dedicated 4th and 5th grade teacher in the Danville school system for 23 years, and for over 40 years, she served her church, Cornerstone Assembly of God, by playing the organ and piano on the worship team.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joys in recent years were celebrating her 80th birthday, meeting her great-grandchildren, and knowing her family followed the Lord. June enjoyed cooking large holiday meals, blessing her family with thoughtful gifts, and offering daily prayers for each of them. She loved teaching her grandchildren to fish, sew, bake, and express their creativity.
June and Fred recently moved to Lexington, where they attended Church of the Savior.
June is survived by her husband, Robert Fred Coburn; children, Thomas Coburn (Cathy), Sarah Korosec (Ryan), and Rachel Smith (Bobby); grandchildren, Jonathan Coburn (Genny), Catherine Hurst (Christian), Rebekah Cochran (Joshua), Anna Maddux (Nate), Michael Coburn, Rachel Korosec, Joshua Korosec, Daniel Korosec, Aliyah Coburn, Henry Smith, Amos Smith, Jude Smith, and Louise Smith; great-grandchildren, George Coburn and Stephen Cochran; and a host of friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 30th, from 4–7 p.m., with the funeral service on Monday, March 31st, at 10 a.m. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Road.
While we will miss her dearly, we find comfort knowing that June is now in the presence of her Savior, praising Him with joy. Her legacy of faith and love will continue to inspire all who knew her.

I did not know Mrs Coburn, but I know 2 of her children, Thomas, and Rachel. Because of them, I can attest to her sweet spirit and fervency for our Lord! I pray He will carry them and give them peace, as in Phil 4:7. Many blessings! Janelle

I was saddened to learn of June´s passing. I have many fond memories from years ago. Her father, Bruce and my mother, Mary Ann were siblings. I pray the family will find comfort knowing June is in the presence of our lord, Jesus Christ.
