Carolyn "Mimi" Ellison

Carolyn “Mimi” Ellison, 77, of Kingsport, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born and raised in Albany, GA, and after meeting her soulmate, moved to Kingsport where she spent the last 49 years. She loved children, spending a lot of her time working with them at church, daycares and clinics. Carolyn devoted her life to her family…her children, grandchildren along with her extended family. To know her was to love her. 

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ellison; parents, Mearl and Fay Hall; and brother, Jim Hall.

 

Carolyn is survived by her children, Beth Waugh and Luke Ellison (Tammy); grandchildren, Wes Waugh, Mia Waugh, Dalton Ellison, Makenna Waugh, and Blake Ellison; siblings, Dennis Hall (Barbara), Susan Foutz (Mark), Diane (Kurt) Zarder, and Patti Stam; sister-in-law, Faye Powell (Coy); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport with Pastor Jeff Strong officiating.

 

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Washington County Memory Gardens.
