Carolyn E. Fiduccia, 91, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and service. Born on September 21, 1933, in St. Augustine, Florida, to William Allen Rowand Sr. and Leona Mary Elizabeth Cash (Marie). Carolyn's life was marked by deep connections and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
She was the devoted wife of the late Charles Richard “Chuck” Fiduccia Sr., whom she met while attending Saint Anthony's Nursing School. Their partnership was a testament to enduring love. Together, they raised three children: Charlotte, Charles Jr./Rick (Donna), and Andrew (Lori). Carolyn's nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren—Jason, Erik, Shana, and Kristin—and great-grandchildren: Julianna, Charlie, Ashton, Zachery, and Annabelle. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Carolyn's professional journey was rooted in compassion and a commitment to care. After graduating from Saint Anthony's Nursing School, she began her career as a surgical nurse. Later, she served as a school nurse for Rockford District 205. She went on to earn her master's degree from Northern Illinois University.
Carolyn was known for her spunky attitude, kind-hearted and thoughtful nature, plus award-winning roses. She enjoyed creating and teaching ceramics, was a skilled seamstress and loved to entertain in her home.
In passing, Carolyn is reunited with her beloved husband, her parents, and her siblings. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family
A Mass of Christian Burial is on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation prior to Mass from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Road, Rockford, IL 61107. A night before visitation will be on Thursday, May 22, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108. A rosary will be held at at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to plant something beautiful in her memory.
