Mrs. Carolyn Jean Petty Garner, age 82 of 208 Webber Street, Jonesville, widow of John David Garner, Sr., passed away, Monday March 24, 2025, at her home.
Mrs. Garner was born December 14, 1942, in York, a daughter of the late Lee Petty and Vera Byars Petty. She was a 1960 graduate of Jonesville High School and retired in 2004 as Assistant Librarian of Jonesville High School. She was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church where she had previously taught Sunday School.
Surviving are two daughters-in-law, Paula Garner and Sherill Garner, both of Jonesville; six grandchildren, Kyle Rice, Cody Guyton, Kalyn Garner, Courtney Garner, Chelsey Garner, and Jaxon Garner; eight great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Joyce Smith and husband Steve of Gaffney, Judy McBride of Spartanburg, Jackie Cutshaw of Jonesville, and Joan Merrill of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by two sons, John Garner and Mark Garner.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 28, 2025, at Jonesville Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Scott Cannon. Burial will follow at Jonesville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held Friday from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM, prior to the services at the church.
The family is at the home, 208 Webber Street, Jonesville, SC 29353.
