Carolyn E. Glodowski, of Stevens Point, passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on March 2, 2025, at the age of 86.
Carolyn was born June 4, 1938, in Chicago, IL; daughter of the late Harold and Julia (Kijowski) Yetter. From a young age on, Carolyn had a maternal instinct. Before having children of her own, she would babysit and help take care of the home while also focusing on her education. She went on to graduate from Maria High School.
Following high school, Carolyn entered the workforce and worked at Sentry Insurance, where she also retired from. Carolyn married Ernest "Ernie" L. Glodowski, and was a devoted wife to him for many years until his passing. In their time together, the two welcomed a daughter, Susan, and a son, John. She was a doting mother and enjoyed watching her family grow, delighting in becoming a grandmother and a great-grandmother. Carolyn will always be remembered for her contagious smile and gracious heart.
After retirement, Carolyn found solace and enjoyment in spending time at their cottage up north in Woodruff, where she and her family would fish and relax. Carolyn was also an avid reader and spent countless hours reading books.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Susan (Tom) Brenegan; her son, John (Tricia) Glodowski; her grandchildren: Ryan Brenegan, Rebecca Gawlik, Bethany (Jake) Breneman, Sam (Gretchen) Brenegan, Shannon Glodowski, and Ryan Glodowski; and her 7 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother, John Yetter; her sister-in-law, Agnes Kobishop; and her devoted friend and roommate, Lynn Monte.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Julia; her beloved husband, Ernie; her siblings, Hank, Gerald, and Henrietta; and her loving companion, Jim Wayerski.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the staff at Heartland Hospice, especially Michelle and Jody; to Pastor Hulke and St. Paul Lutheran Church family for their prayers and support; and to her "adopted" grandchild, Robin Coppock. Everyone's love and support is greatly appreciated.
A funeral service will be held for Carolyn at 11:30 AM on Friday, March 7, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church - 1919 Wyatt Ave., Stevens Point. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories at the church on Friday from 10:30 AM until the time of service.
Shuda Funeral Chapel is honored to be assisting the family.
