Carolyn Harbaugh (1954–2025)
Carolyn Harbaugh, 70, of Franklin Park, IL, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the devoted wife and best friend of Johnnie Harbaugh for 41 beautiful years—a partnership built on laughter, loyalty, and unwavering support.
Carolyn was a proud and loving mother to Tracie Bruno, the late Phillip Harbaugh, and Hailee Harbaugh. Her children were the center of her world—her greatest joy, source of strength, and reason for endless pride. She poured her heart into raising them with love, wisdom, and compassion.
She was a doting grandmother to Mackenzie Salgado and Madison Salgado, who brought endless light and happiness into her life. Carolyn was also the cherished sister of Patricia Sweat and William Sweat (Marilyn bruno), with whom she shared a deep, lifelong bond filled with treasured memories.
She was a loving aunt to Nicole Rifkin and Robert Willis, and a proud great-aunt to Bobby, Milani, Max, Evan, and Levi.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Bob and Shirley Sweat, and her dear son, Phillip Harbaugh, whose memory she carried in her heart every day.
A dedicated dental professional for many years, Carolyn touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues with her warm smile, gentle nature, and kind heart. Beyond her career, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures—especially her love for crafts and ceramics, where her creativity and care shone through in every piece she made.
Carolyn’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and quiet strength. She will be remembered for her compassionate spirit, her ability to make others feel truly seen and valued, and the comforting presence that made any place feel like home.
She will be deeply missed—and her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
