Carolyn Patrick Harrell, 76, passed away on August 7th, 2025.
A celebration of life will be held in the Farmer Funeral Chapel on Saturday, August 16th at 4:00 PM.
Carolyn was born in Halifax County June 3rd, 1949 later moving to Greenville, NC and graduating from JH rose High School in 1967. Carolyn began her working career at Prep Shirt in Greenville, NC before starting her career job at Hallmark at East Carolina Mall in Greenville, NC in 1978. Carolyn managed the Greenville location until the store closed and she went to the Wilson, NC location and finishing her career with Hallmark at the Vernon Mall location in Kinston, NC. During her working career Carolyn created many lasting relationships and had a very strong work ethic. Many people often reflecting on her fairness, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills. She passed those skills on to many young ladies she employed over the years. She enjoyed socializing and being with people and worked at Xpress Yourself Boutique until 2025.
Carolyn always had a smile on her face and was easy to talk to never passing judgement on anyone. You could often find her at family functions bringing many yummy food dishes or when her grandsons were playing sports on a ball field. Never missing any major event for any family member throughout the years. One of her biggest joys was cooking with some of her great-great nephews, sharing recipes, or spending time at Harker's Island with her family.
Carolyn faithfully attended church for many years at Grimesland Free Will Baptist where she helped in many areas of the church and most recently attended First Original Free Will Baptist Church.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Tommy Harrell; brother Victor Bryce Patrick; and sister Linda Patrick Nelson.
She is survived by her son, Michael Harrell; Grandsons, Gavin Harrell and Garrett Blackburn; sister Donnie Grubbs (Joe); brother, Ray Patrick (Amy); great niece Jordy Warren-Bridgers; numerous other family members and her special companion Ollie, her cat.
