Carolyn Jo Hauck, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many special people, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, at the age of 76 in Buford, Georgia.
Carolyn was born on May 23, 1948, and grew up in the small southern town of Harlem Georgia. Carolyn spent her early years growing up around Daddy Warren and Granny Iny, who taught her how to be good to others, cook southern food, and care for those who could not 100% care for themselves. She developed a love of animals at an early age on her beloved home, also known as "the farm", and spent her life rescuing and caring for many orphaned animals.
Carolyn married Burton Parker Hauck in 1966 and became the wife of a career military man and Vietnam Army veteran. She traveled throughout Oklahoma, Kentucky, Ohio, and Georgia and raised two children Daphne and Burt Jr.
Carolyn was loving, determined, fiery and not afraid to "march to the beat of her own drum." She was a terrific storyteller, loved to wear beautiful clothes and make-up, laugh, listen to good music, and dance. She inevitably brought joy to friends and family and made those around her feel loved and special. Her greatest strengths were her faith in God, and the ability to see beauty in others. She often said, "people are flowers growing freely in a field, uniquely created by a loving God; each of us different, and each of us beautiful, with none being more special than the others".
Her bravery and faith in God were inspiring and humbling towards the end of her journey, as she most courageously fought cancer to the end. Carolyn will be missed by those who loved her, and her stories and beautiful smile will be treasured and remembered.
Carolyn is survived by Daphne Renee Brookshire (daughter), Burton Parker Hauck Jr. (son), Madalyn Renee Flye (granddaughter), and Jody L. Brookshire (son-in-law).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held to honor the life of Carolyn Jo Hauck on June 21st, 2025, at Wages and Sons in Lawrenceville Georgia. Visitation is from 4 pm to 6 pm. Eulogy and Prayer is from 6pm -7pm.
