Obituary published on Legacy.com by Merit Memorial Funeral & Cremation Care - Dallas on Oct. 1, 2025.
Carolyn Louise Ladymon, born on October 21, 1960, in
Dallas, TX, was a woman of unparalleled compassion and resilience. She lived her life with unyielding courage, her heartfelt devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, shining through in all her endeavors. For as it is written in the book of Romans, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28). Despite her longtime health struggles, including 12 years total on dialysis, three kidney transplants, and myelofibrosis, Carolyn's faith never wavered. Her steadfast love for Christ and undying belief in His faithfulness were a testament to her indomitable spirit.
Carolyn's professional life was as notable as her personal resilience. A dedicated nurse and Data Systems Administrator, Carolyn served her community with compassion and dedication for over three decades, retiring from Methodist Dallas Hospital in 2015. She was an embodiment of love, always extending her hand to those in need. Carolyn was also a spirited traveler, an adventurous foodie, and a ceaseless connoisseur of knowledge. Her love for exploration took her to various parts of the U.S and several other countries, including a memorable mission trip to Prague. She was also a beloved aunt, her nephews and nieces lovingly referring to her as 'Aunt Carolyn'. Her knack for remembering dates and her commitment to family gatherings made her the glue that held the family together.
Carolyn was a beacon of light in this world, her life a testament to her love for God, her family, and her friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, and resilience, survived by her sister, Suzanne Ladymon (Tadeu), brothers Robert (Mikel) and Scott (Valarie) Ladymon, nephews Jim (Lindsey) Voris Jr., Jordan (Nikki) Voris, and Matthew (Sarayna) Ladymon, niece Laura (Hardin) Stoker, and an array of great-nieces and nephews (Gavin, Greyson, Dominic, Andre, Layla, Peter, Natalie, and Brynn) along with uncles and aunts (Harry, Monty, Cindy, and Betsy), cousins (Dal and family, Kent and family, Dawn and family, Blane and family, Kirk and family, Eric and family, Todd and family, Beth and family, Shane and family, and Shannon) and a host of friends that she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents (Robert Ladymon & Betty Stafford Ladymon), adoring grandparents (Monty & Helen Stafford)(Albert & Toni Ladymon), and several aunts and uncles (Peggy & Ernie Power)(David & Dava Ladymon), and a cousin, Rick Ladymon.
