Carolyn Sue Lucas, 78, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away peacefully at Good Samaritan Hospital on May 11, 2025. Carolyn was born on January 11, 1947 in Vincennes, Indiana to Charles and Annabelle (Carrie) Berry.

She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965, the same year she married the love of her life, Jack Lucas, on December 4. She also worked at home as a babysitter, at the hospital as an aide, at GentleCare Nursing Home, and earlier at the White Kitchen and Dairy Queen. Carolyn was talented at cooking and baking, decorating cakes, and sewing and blessed others with these God-given gifts, including children who she helped with 4-H projects. She had a servant's heart and a love for people. She attended church all of her life starting at the Free Methodist Church, then Bethlehem General Baptist and most recently Bethany General Baptist in Bicknell and Bunker Hill General Baptist in Vincennes. She was active in supporting missionaries throughout her life, including a trip to Jamaica to sew uniforms for children. She was known as a prayer warrior. Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family, watching Hallmark Channel and game shows, growing flowers, working puzzles, helping others, and attending grandkids' activities.

Carolyn is survived by her three daughters; Angela Lucas of Denver, CO, Amber Soderling (Scott) of Vincennes, Andrea Hostetler (Chris) of Vincennes, six grandchildren; Jacquelyn Duncan (Andrew) of Evansville, Joshua Nelson (Alee) of Evansville, Jordan Soderling (Jennie) of Indianapolis, Jonathan Soderling, Jillian Hostetler, and Joseph Hostetler all of Vincennes, one great-grandchild; Miles Duncan of Evansville, 2 sisters; Patti Stuber of Vincennes and Coleen Fitch of Indianapolis, and a brother, Chuck Berry of Vincennes. Several nieces, nephews, dear friends, and others whom she treated as her own children survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
