Carolyn Mixon, 85, of Hot Springs, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
She is survived by her two sons, Glenn (Ramona) Mixon and Perry (Rhonda) Mixon; one sister, Hessie Hughs; and six grandchildren: Mackenzie Mixon, Mallory Mixon, Jenna (Michael) Collier, and Cody (Jessica) Mixon, Michael Shuffield, Taleena Mixon. Carolyn was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Cheynne McLemore, Brayden Mixon, and twins Jax and Jaci Collier.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Foster Perry and Margaret Knowton; her sisters, Margaret Benton and Rosemary Daniel; her brothers, Don Perry, Bob Perry, and Jerry Perry; as well as two half-brothers and seven step-siblings.
Carolyn was a devoted and compassionate social worker. Her educational journey began with earning her GED, followed by an associate degree from Garland County Community College. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Henderson State University and completed her master's degree at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Throughout her career, Carolyn worked for various organizations, ultimately concluding her professional life in private practice.
She had a deep love for travel, especially enjoying cruises and any destination with a beach. At home, Carolyn found joy in tending to her flower gardens and had a talent for buying and flipping houses.
Carolyn will be remembered for her dedication to helping others, her adventurous spirit, and her love for her family.
Honorary pallbearers will be: JoAnn Reeves, Jessica Mixon, Gwen Reeves, the staff at Hot Springs Village Nursing and Rehab, and Arkansas Hospice.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday August 7, 2025 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home from 2:00-4:00PM.
