Carolyn Kay Passamonte beloved wife and mother passed away on November 10, 2024 after a long illness.
Carolyn was born on February 4, 1952 in Muskegon, Michigan to Howard Johnson and Aileen Seacat Johnson. Her family moved to Arizona in 1968 where she went to Coronado High School and graduated in 1970. She went to Taylor University for one semester and then transferred to Northern Arizona University where she met her husband, Sam. They moved back to Scottsdale and finished her education at Arizona State University where she obtained a degree in Psychology.
After having two children and getting them started in school, Carolyn went back to Arizona State University to attend law school in 1990. She graduated, passed the bar and went to work as a prosecutor at the Arizona Attorney General's Office. In July of 2002, she was appointed as a Commissioner of the Superior Court where she served the citizens of Maricopa County until her retirement in 2020.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 51 years, Sam, children, Scott (Jade) and Kacie, grandchildren, Sophia, Adeline, Nolan, Lily and DJ, sister Marsha and brother Larry.
Carolyn loved to sing and she performed on many occasions. She also loved the theater, was amazing at playing trivia games and was always a formidable opponent at Jeopardy, Facts in Five or Trivial Pursuit. She also loved to travel and was able to make trips to Italy, France, England and Holland. She also managed to make it to 20 of the 32 major league baseball stadiums.
Services will be held at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th Street on November 23, with memorial gathering from 12:30 to 1:30 and a memorial service from 1:30 to 2:30.

We are truly sorry for the loss of your wife and mother. Carolyn was a remarkable person who touched the lives of so many. Her memory will live on
